I’ve always been a strong advocate for hugging a good tree. It’s therapeutic.
During a morning hike in Monteverde our lovely guide encouraged us to find a tree, think about something that had been bothering us, and hug the tree. Seems silly but it stuck with me. I had been carrying an emotional weight and it felt good to name it and let it go for the day. Since I’ve been back, l’ve felt that weight ten fold, especially with recent life events. Today I took a first step for myself and decided to start therapy again. You can’t carry the weight by yourself, and trees can only help so much. If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign.
